Suffering severe flashbacks after a school shooting disrupted his Columbine high school community, Nick Antonio quickly spiraled to a life of extreme substance use in order to cope with anxiety and PTSD.

After spending nearly two decades in the grips of addiction, Nick sought trauma treatment and has now been free of substances for more than three years. Channeling much of his past to helping other people with similar struggles, Nick cites his vulnerability and willingness to be transparent with his traumas as having saved his life. He is currently serving the dual diagnoses population full time as a peer services specialist. Outside of work, Nick enjoys spending time with his family and three teenage sons, camping and fishing.
