2016 when my daughter was going to DUKE University and she got bitten by a tick and getting infected with Lyme Neuroborreliosis affecting her brain, I embarked on a transformative journey to find better ways of serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Faced with the daunting task of finding a daycare equipped to meet her special needs, I recognized the pressing need for a nurturing environment tailored to adults with unique care requirements. Driven by a deep sense of empathy and a commitment to fostering well-being, I founded My Friend’s House Day Center to provide a place where individuals facing health complexities can receive specialized, compassionate care. My entrepreneurial spirit and passion for creating positive change led me to establish this center, dedicated to enhancing the lives of those in our care.
